In the midst of my assignment deadlines, i just have to write this down. Work was atrocious. I was so damn busy, it felt like i was working alone, (which incidently, is probably what is really happening).
Had a call early in the morning to settle a PC that was supposed to be setup for an intern coming on the very same day. Went down and guess what, the PC was just placed there. The network line was like real far, so i had to make do with 3 metre line by shifting the PC down to the floor and adjusting the keyboard and mouse. Turned it on and lo and behold, no user id and password. Took a real long time before i got the settings done. What was even more sianz, was that the PC belonged to someone else, cause the name wasn't changed. Problem, cause that PC had issues. Why didn't they just formatted the PC before they sent it down? Giving a PC with issues is going to give more problems and waste more time cause of the troubleshooting. That young punk intern even had the nerve to later go into the BIOS and ended up causing problems to the PC. Young punk, its not his PC, who told him to mess it up.
Worst thing that happened was at another level. Went down, and was told, one of the PCs was infected. Damn. This was the PC that my TL had asked me about, the same PC that he asked if i knew who took out the AV. Ok, so u know about it, then u left the room after asking me, but did you do anything? No.
I had to go down there today, realize that nothing was done, and i had to spend the whole afternoon purging the virus from the PC. Hey, come on, you know what happened, why didn't you do anything? All you did was asked who did this and that, and when you knew about it, you didn't do anything. I had to go down and help them solve the problem, and you knew about this last week. So can i ask, what the hell have you been doing instead? While i was out fighting fire after fire, what the hell did you do?
The last straw came when i went to the 3rd level. Someone called cause they couldn't log into a PC. When i went down, lo and behold, the fella could log in after just one try. Why it didn't happen in the first place? No one knew, but some SOB had the audacity to motion to me to walk to me, like some dog, and question about our procedures. It totally felt like he was questioning me about my work attitude, and the way he said it was like, without a single ounce of respect. S.O.B. Threatened to tell the Tech Manager, so i told him, go ahead, go tell, i know myself, i have no qualms about being questioned if i did my job cause i know and everyone in the damn company knows i do my job.
So what if your the chairman's grandson. That doesn't give you the authority to treat others without respect. Have you ever tasted hardship? Have you ever known what it feels like to really work for yourself? Do you even know what it means to see what others have and can buy while you can only dream and imagine? Have you ever not had whatever you want to eat cause you can't afford it? Do you really know what it means to worry about what you are going to eat the next day? To hold out on things that you really want cause you have to save for your family?
Have some decent respect. Go home and look at yourself in the mirror. You don't get respect, you earn it, and i don't think you've done enough, to command the kind of respect each person has for another if your gonna talk and act like this.
